Heating Milk
To warm breast milk, stand the container with frozen milk in warm water.
If you use breastmilk storage bags, you can warm and defrost by holding them under the hot tap with warm water running over them.
You could also use an electric baby bottle warmer.
Do not use boiling water, as this will curdle the milk and destroy many of the natural anti-infective properties.
When breast milk is reheated, it should only be offered to baby once for completion of the feed. Discard any unused milk that has not been fed to baby
Microwaves should not be used to heat or thaw breast milk, as these destroy the immunological properties and disturb the protein structure.
