Drawings are my First Step
Here’s just a few random sketches from my notepad of some initial maternity designs. I doodle designs, and play around with all sorts of things on paper. Sleeves, length, drape, breastfeeding openings, fabric detail, folding. After lots of sketches and measurements, we make my favorites into samples so that I can try them for real.
Drawing is just my starting point. I like to visualise, and compare all the choices in the full collection. Trying to ensure there are enough items for our customer to buy her entire maternity wardrobe. I only colour them in once I know the final fabric I’ve selected.
