Every Mum is a Cover Star
In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, which takes place from 1-7 August 2013, online maternity store Breastmates is running a special photo search with a difference: the submitted photos can be any interpretation of the phrase “baby feeding.”
“I’d love for mums to share with me a photo that encapsulates what ‘baby feeding’ means to them and their family,” says Frances McInnes, manager of Breastmates. “In the early days especially, mums need to feed their babies every few hours around the clock. It’s a real labour of love, and mums deserve to be recognised for everything they do to keep their babies loved and nourished.”
The theme of this year’s World Breastfeeding Week, “Breastfeeding support: Close to mothers” reflects the crucial need for new mothers to receive compassionate encouragement and help with feeding their babies. Frances believes that all mums deserve support and inspiration with feeding their babies, and says this special photo search intends to do just that.
“By asking the New Zealand community of mums to share their photos of baby feeding, I’m hoping to encourage mums to be ambassadors of support and inspiration for others who may need a little boost, or just a reminder that they are doing an incredible thing by feeding their baby,” she explains.
